20 Years of swissRTec – From the Matterhorn to the Vineyards

To celebrate its 20th anniversary, the swissRTec team took a three-day break from everyday business to enjoy a weekend together in the Swiss mountains and vineyards. From October 2 to 4, machines and recycling plants took a back seat to shared experiences, good conversations, and team spirit.

Since its founding in 2006, swissRTec has grown from developing its first Delamination Mill into an internationally active supplier of recycling technologies and complete recycling plants. Important milestones include the partnership with Kubota, numerous recycling plants installed worldwide, and the development of new technologies for lithium-ion battery recycling. Throughout these 20 years, innovation, technical expertise, and above all, the people behind swissRTec have been at the heart of our success.

Our journey began with a ride on the Glacier Express from Chur to Zermatt, where we stayed in two chalets just outside the village. On Friday and Saturday evenings, the kitchen became the stage for a friendly competition, with two teams taking part in a cooking challenge. Which menu impressed the jury most will only be revealed at our Christmas dinner.

Saturday’s highlight was a spectacular helicopter flight around the Matterhorn, with perfect weather and breathtaking views stretching all the way to Mont Blanc. Afterwards, we took the Gornergrat railway up into the mountains and continued on foot to Lake Riffelsee. There, we came across a familiar sight: the Matterhorn reflected in the lake, an image that has featured in our product catalogue and on our website for many years.

On Sunday, our journey continued to the Lavaux wine region overlooking Lake Geneva. In the private garden of local winemaker Louis in Epesses, we enjoyed a wine tasting accompanied by regional specialities and magnificent views of the lake. A walk through the vineyards of this UNESCO World Heritage Site brought our weekend to a close before we headed home via Bern.

Three days filled with shared experiences, great conversations, and exceptionally good weather – a weekend we will remember for a long time.

A heartfelt thank you to Walter, Arthur, Daniel, Dorleta, Stefan, Jeannine, René, and Bernhard. It was a real pleasure to share this special weekend with all of you!
